Boosting the morale of the personnel, the newly-appointed DGP Nanduri Sambasiva Rao exuded confidence that the State was poised to overcome the hurdles borne out of the State bifurcation with available resources. Addressing a press conference, after assuming charge, here on Saturday, he described the State police force as one of the best in the country.
Acknowledging the loss of key institutes and infrastructural facilities – like AP Police Academy (APPA), Forensic Science Lab – to Telangana, he underscored the need for capacity-building to further strengthen the police force in the State. Outlining his priorities, the police chief said that the emphasis would be laid on improving citizen-centric services and tending to the needs of people.
